Ingredients:

  • Organic, grass-fed butter (as much as desired)

Instructions:

  1. Place the organic, grass-fed butter in a saucepan or small pot.
  2. Heat the butter over low heat until it is completely melted.
  3. Continue to cook the melted butter over low heat, without stirring, until it starts to foam and the milk solids separate from the clear, golden liquid.
  4. Once the foam subsides, and the liquid turns a golden color, remove the pot from the heat.
  5. Allow the melted butter to cool for a few minutes.
  6. Carefully strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean, dry glass jar, discarding the milk solids left in the sieve.
  7. Let the ghee cool completely at room temperature, then cover the jar with a lid and store it in a cool, dark place.
