Meet Jessica Hoskins
Clinical Nutritionist & Herbalist
Women’s, mothers’ and children’s health
BHSc(CompMed) | AdvDipNutMed | AdvDipWHM | Fellow ATMS
Jessica Hoskins is a clinical nutritionist and herbalist with more than 13 years of experience supporting women, mothers, children and families through the changing seasons of health.
Her work sits at the intersection of clinical nutrition, traditional herbal medicine, naturopathic care and functional medicine. She brings together evidence-informed practice, careful case-taking and practical therapeutic support for women who are tired, depleted, hormonally unsettled, digestively uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or simply not feeling like themselves.
Jessica is the founder of Petite Herbe, a modern naturopathic clinic and dispensary in Brunswick Heads, created to offer thoughtful, high-quality natural healthcare to the local community and beyond.
Care for women, mothers and children
Jessica’s clinical work is centred on women’s health across the reproductive years, motherhood, the long postpartum years and the transition into perimenopause.
She supports women with concerns such as fatigue, low mood, anxiety, PMS and PMDD, thyroid health, digestive symptoms, sleep disruption, cycle changes, nutrient depletion, hormonal shifts, fertility preparation, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and perimenopause.
A significant part of Jessica’s work is with mothers who are no longer in the early postpartum window, but who still feel the physical, mental and emotional load of motherhood in their bodies. This may look like exhaustion that sleep does not fully fix, worsening PMS, brain fog, low resilience, bloating, weight changes, hair or skin changes, irritability, poor stress tolerance, or the sense that they are functioning but not thriving.
Jessica also works with children and families, offering considered support for immune health, skin conditions, digestive concerns, mood and behaviour, sleep, food tolerance, growth, and nutrient deficiencies.
“Women’s health is not a straight line. There are cycles, seasons and years of transition that deserve dedicated care. My role is to meet women where they are, listen deeply, and offer clear therapeutic support that can be carried into real life.”
A different kind of care
Jessica’s approach is comprehensive, individualised and grounded in the realities of modern family life.
Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, she considers the wider clinical picture: nutrition, digestion, hormones, nervous system load, sleep, pathology markers, environmental exposures, family demands, stress, life stage and the cumulative effects of depletion over time.
Her care may include:
Therapeutic nutrition and wholefood strategies
Herbal medicine
Functional and pathology testing
Bespoke nutritional compounds
Topical preparations
Practitioner-grade supplementation where appropriate
Lifestyle support that is realistic for women and families
Collaborative care with GPs, midwives, allied health practitioners and other healthcare providers when needed
Jessica’s aim is not to overwhelm clients with another impossible wellness plan. Her work is about identifying what matters most, supporting the body’s foundations, and creating a clear path forward.

Jessica’s Story
“ When I had our first baby I was the happiest and healthiest I’d ever been. I had spent months preparing for conception, I lavished on myself during pregnancy, I did all of the things I was supposed to, and I went into the post-partum period feeling really good!
Fast forward to baby number two and things didn’t feel quite so good. A mild case of PND combined with work, studying, a traveling husband, and adjusting to being a Mum of two took its toll. Without realising it I had stopped prioritising my own health and wellbeing. For a long period I was tired, wired and eventually depleted. I was so ‘busy’ I did not even see it coming.
It took a couple of wake up calls, but I had seen this many times over in my clients. I finally recognised that I was on the path of a burnout.
With nutrition, natural medicine and mindfulness I slowly started to feel like myself again and was on the road to recovery.
I’m thankful that because of my knowledge and experience as a clinical nutritionist and herbalist, I have the awareness and know-how that I need to bring myself back into alignment. But this made me think: if this could happen to me; what about all the Mums out there that do not have this kind of toolbox?
I know that my story is so similar to many other mums out there, which is why supporting mothers has become my clinical focus.
If you’re feeling like this resonates with you, I hear you. Just know that it is more than ok to prioritise your own health and wellbeing.”
